 ENGLISH

From 4th-8th of March 2019, this year’s study visit to Brussels took place as a part of the European Green Activists Training (EGAT), organized by the Green European Foundation with the aim of introducing the institutions of the EU, civil society organizations and green activists.

The goal of the study visit was to gather all participants of national trainings, held in Finland, Malta, Czech Republic and Croatia, in one place and to add the European dimension to the existing trainings that took part on the national level. Participants were given the opportunity to gain practical skills, such as negotiation and networking, while also learning how to influence the national and European politics.

After the first day, which was intended for getting-to-know-each-other activities, participants visited the European Parliament on the second day, where they had the opportunity to meet some of the MEPs and learn more about the institutions of the European Union and its’ history through guided tours of Parlamentarium and the House of Europe.

On the third and fourth day, participants had workshops on the topics of lobbying and the future of the EU and its’ institutions, while the argumentative discussion was encouraged through the debates on various relevant topics.

After the second Brussels study visit in which young people from Croatia have participated, we can conclude that it has given us another unforgettable week that certainly influenced the personal and professional development of participants!
