From 14th to 15th of December 2018, a second national EGAT 2018 training took place in Samobor.

As a part of the second national training, Alan Kečkeš, policy adviser in Greens/EFA grupation in the European Parliament, conducted a lecture on Social and Cohesion policy in the EU, along with his own experiences in working at the European Parliament. The lecture was interactive and encouraged participants to take part in the discussion. Participants had a lot of questions regarding EU political economy, trade relations, structural EU funds, decision making processes in the EU and populism. Additionally, during the lecture participants were shown some useful Internet pages on which they can find more information about what is EU investing in and how to take part as a young person.

The second day of the national training was intended for the simulation of the ENVI Committee. Each participant got a predefined role they had to follow until the end of the session. Participants were divided into two groups: first group consisting of MEPs and the second group consisting of NGO representatives, lobbyists, representatives of the unions and scientists. The aim of the simulation was to achieve a common resolution on how to stop wildfires in Europe. The whole session was inspired with the resolution of the European Commission, which claims that climate change has been one of the main causes of wildfires in the last decade. Participants were encouraged to argument and debate about their intentions and goals.

After the end of the simulation, participants have become aware of the multiple levels of decision-making in ENVI Committee, along with the complexity of negotiating in the political sphere.
